This service is provided by a Registered Massage Therapy new graduate who have finished the program and are waiting to take their board exam to attain their registration. They are all well trained and skilled. Sessions include manual therapy, education, and corrective exercises to get clients back to living a pain free life.

Dennis Michailides

Dennis is a dedicated candidate for Registered Massage Therapy practice at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy.

An active and engaged participant of the massage community, Dennis has spent time working with athletes at biking events, marathons, and other sports competitions. Moreover, Dennis has experience working with clients with sundry pathologies (Cerebral Palsy, Ehlers Danlos, Trisomy 21, and more). Whether at his school clinic or at Therapy X, Dennis has been lauded for his strong, yet soft hands, and his ability to be able to find areas and sources of discomfort confidently and quickly.

His approach has been characterized by clients and classmates alike as a holistic blending of deep tissue, relaxation techniques, myofascial work and therapeutic exercises to create personalized care plans for each client.

Dennis’s journey has been shaped by personal experiences with weight loss, chronic pain, and overcoming adversity. Dennis’s passion for health and wellness began in his early 30s, when he struggled with significant weight gain and the accompanying physical and emotional challenges, after the birth of his two sons. Determined to reclaim his health to become the best father possible, he embarked on a transformative weight loss journey, shedding over 120 pounds through a combination of mindful eating, exercise, and a commitment to self-care.

During this period, Dennis also faced chronic pain from Crohns disease, joint issues, and what ended up being a benign (but painful) tumors in both of his hips. Traditional treatments offered little relief, and he found himself in a cycle of frustration and discomfort. In his search for effective solutions, Dennis discovered the profound impact of massage therapy. The relief he experienced ignited a spark that would change his career path.

Motivated by his personal healing journey, Dennis decided to pursue formal training in massage therapy. Today, he focuses most on helping clients manage pain, recover from injuries, and achieve overall well-being. His firsthand experience with pain and weight management uniquely equips him to empathize with clients, tailoring each session to meet their specific needs.

Dennis’s journey is one of resilience and dedication. He believes in the body’s remarkable ability to heal and strives to empower others to take control of their health.
